Double the Family Fun at Ajax Downs Racetrack & the RCMP Musical Ride
Join us at Ajax Downs for an unforgettable day of family fun, thrilling Quarter Horse racing, and one of
Canada’s most iconic traditions.
The excitement begins with live Quarter Horse racing at 12:30 p.m., where you can experience the
speed, energy, and close-up action that makes a day at Ajax Downs so unique. Then, directly
following the races, enjoy the spectacular RCMP Musical Ride performance, expected to take place
approximately between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. The official performance time will be announced two
days prior to the event.
After the RCMP Musical Ride, guests are invited to enjoy a complimentary meet-and-greet with the
Mounties and their horses — a very special opportunity to get up close, take photos, and experience
this cherished Canadian tradition in a memorable way.
Throughout the day, families can also enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities, available for a
minimum donation. Hot Dogs & More will be here, along with Lowlands Pizza Truck. Raffles, 50/50
Draw, Face Painting and More. All Donations go to United Way Durham Region.
Gates open at 11:00 a.m. on July 19 th
Seating is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Once all seats are filled, guests are welcome to
enjoy the event from the standing area.

For those looking to enhance their event experience, an optional VIP Stable Tour will be
offered on Friday, July 17, 2026. Guests will have the chance to go behind the scenes and
explore the stable area with limited tour availability.

Enjoy a special behind-the-scenes experience featuring the horses of the RCMP Musical Ride.
Learn more about the horses and the tradition of the Musical Ride, with opportunities to pat
the horses and take memorable photos. Select horses will be presented in ceremonial kit, and
some officers will be dressed in their iconic red serge uniforms.
VIP Stable Tour- Please meet at the main entrance of the building 45 mins prior to your tour
time . Tour leaves promptly 30 minutes before tour time. There is a short walk to the stable.
Closed toed shoes required.
